Introduction to Training Your PWD Event

The PWDCNC is offering an opportunity to begin training with your PWD and open the door to more ways to have fun with your dog.
 
  • Trick Dog Training –Impress family & friends with simple tricks that can enhance your PWD’s focus and obedience. Read on!
    • Training should be fun for both the dog and handler.
    • Novice teams can overstress about training necessary skills for life or competition.
    • Learning training techniques working on tricks takes the stress out of making any mistakes. If you or the dog make a mistake, oh well!, it was just a silly trick!
    • The opportunity to take the AKC Novice Trick Dog test.

 

  • Basic good manners—Build your PWD’s confidence and ability to interact politely with the world around them
    • Basic skills needed by every dog to be a good companion and begin the path to other fun activities such as rally, obedience, and water work
    • Basic skills needed by a PWD’s handler to help the dog be successful
    • The opportunity to take the AKC Canine Good Citizen test

Please note that all individuals attending must be registered. To add a Trick Dog title or CGC Title to your dog’s name, AKC will charge an additional fee when you submit their form.
