The PWDCNC 2022 Water Trial!

2022-10-17T09:52:27-07:00

The 2022 Water Trial Was SO Much FUN! Hello Water Trial Participants, Thanks to John Wilson we once again have amazing photos to remember the 2022 Trial. John doesn't charge anyone for his hard work capturing your dog's action. I should add a thank you to all those folks who volunteered for the many Trial support functions, your help is so appreciated! And thank you, Kathy Souza, for being our Water Trial Chair for another year. You are a wonderful leader, though I fear at times it probably feels like you're herding cats! Most important, thank you, trial competitors for the 3 days of water dog work that amazed and entertained us. As you are well aware, there is simply nothing like working with your PWD on the tasks they were bred to do. With appropriate water sources so scarce here in California, your commitment to working with your dogs is especially commendable. What a journey, eh? PWDCNC-Hosted Agility Trial at Manzanita Park in Prunedale!

2021-02-22T22:43:23-08:00

A Wonderful Weekend at the PWDCNC-Hosted Agility Trial at Manzanita Park in Prunedale! August 11-13 we hosted an agility trial at Manzanita Regional Park in Prunedale, just north of Salinas. Two rings were set up on a big, beautiful, grassy soccer field, with a lot of room for crating and parking. We co-hosted this trial with the Border Collie Club of Northern California, but our runs were scored separately from the Border Collies, which is always a win for us! The weather in Prunedale was perfect for agility, with cool mornings and temperate afternoons. Our excellent judge, Jim Primmer, designed some really fun, really fast courses that we all enjoyed.

Jumpin' June Nights Agility Trial

2021-02-22T22:43:57-08:00

PWDCNC Hosts Jumpin' June Nights Agility Trial If you love agility, you should have attended the Jumpin' June Nights trial at Terry LeClair's Heath Bar Ranch in Shingle Springs June 12-14. Nestled under the trees in the foothills of the Sierra, this three-day event ran Tuesday through Thursday, with one day (June 14 this year) hosted by our club. The really unique feature of this event is the start time-3 p.m.! For late risers and teams who just want to beat the heat, this is the perfect venue. Set up is under the trees, so no need for canopies. Judge Dan Butcher's courses were challenging and fun, and Dan was so supportive of all the teams. The single ring was on grass, and the courses were cleverly nested so the course changes were quick and efficient. All in all, it was a very mellow and congenial gathering. The 2017 Annual Picnic Was a Great Success! Our Annual Club Picnic was held on Saturday, May 20 at Shadow Cliffs Regional Park in Pleasanton.  About 50 club members gathered for the fun filled picnic. The weather was hot and the water was great! An event like this couldn't happen without tons of help.  And our wonderful club members came through loud and clear. Special thanks to our gourmet chef, Mike Paterson, and assistant, Dave Kupec. In addition, special thanks to Carl Craig, Chris Rasmussen, Elinor Cullen, and Karen D’Augusta.  Everyone’s help and support was both greatly appreciated and very much needed.
